Lamentations 3:22–23
“It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
Some mornings you wake up already tired.
Yesterday is still sitting on your chest — the thing you said wrong, the bill you are worried about, the work waiting for you, the kids needing you before you have even had a minute to yourself.
It is easy to start the day feeling like you are already behind.
This verse says something gentler: mercy is new this morning.
Not yesterday's mercy, stretched thin.
Fresh mercy, made for today.
Reset does not have to be big.
It can be this: before you pick up your phone or start fixing everything, take one slow breath and leave one thing from yesterday where it belongs — in yesterday.
You do not have to carry it all forward just because it happened.
Refocus on today only.
Not the whole week, not every worry at once.
Just today, one step at a time.
And rise in a small way: do the next kind thing, the next honest thing, the next brave thing in front of you.
That is enough for this morning.
God's faithfulness is not tired, even when you are.
One small step for today: name one thing from yesterday you are laying down, and take one small step into today with lighter hands.
